Cesare and Sor Irene are tenacious and intense characters who belong to two authentic popular Roman families, the “Rosci” (red heads) and the “Ciccioni” (fat men) who for long years dominated the professional fishing in the Tiber; the river that cuts the eternal city of Rome. They used to live face to face on opposite shores of the river, specializing in eels fishing and having a particular relationship; their life and business were always attached despite the initial compete and the constant disagreement. The director started filming them 15 years ago when they were struggling to adapt and overcome the beginning of the transformation of the society, market requirements and the biological nature of the river and its inhabitants. Today we observe the result of such transformation that changed dramatically and unexpectedly the life of our characters…
