Yiannakis is a 65 year old Greek Cypriot. His greatest passion in life is running. The marathon race is 42 kilometres and 195 metres of effort. The last 195 metres are the most difficult and by completing them every marathon runner is filled with feelings of victory and pride. But in his everyday life the same distance of 195 metres represents something entirely different. It is more or less the distance between the checkpoints that divide the island and that fills him with bitterness. Yiannakis remembers his life in Famagusta until the day he was suddenly forced to fight an unexpected war. Yiannakis travels through painful memories, feelings and stories in a journey of redemption. The journey of Yiannakis, like all of Cypriots is a real life story in an unreal background.
