SYNOPSIS
A “shadowy” cinematographer, with a unique point of view and an old Beaulieu camera, finds the World for the first time, confused and uncertain about the mysterious relationship between himself and the rest of the world.

Riccardo Palladino
Graduated in Cinema, Television and Multimedia Production at University of Bologna, Riccardo Palladino works as a filmmaker, has written several essays on film and teaches cinematographic language.
He directed the mid-length documentary Brasimone (2014) selected in competition at Visions du Réel 2014, Bellaria Film Festival 2015 (Gianni Volpi Award), Visioni Fuori Raccordo 2014 (special jury mention),Trento Film Festival, DMZ DOCS, Perso – Perugia Social Film Festival. Brasimone has been included among the best debut documentary films in the book “Esordi Italiani. Gli anni Dieci del cinema” (Marsilio, 2015).
Il Monte delle Formiche (2017) is his first feature documentary, co-produced by RAI cinema, Cameramano and Filmaffair. It was premiered at 70th Locarno Festival (Filmmakers of the Present competition) and was screened in many other festivals such as Mar del Plata, Filmmaker Festival, Punto de Vista, DocumentaMadrid, Porto/Post/Doc, Perso – Perugia Social Film Festival, Cinema Vérité – Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Frontera-Sur, Working Title Film Festival (special mention) and Cinemambiente where it was awarded as best Italian documentary.
In July 2020 the film was screened by RAI3 (Italian public television).
